FASD Organizations

Canada FASD Research Network – Canada’s first comprehensive national Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) research network and a collaborative, interdisciplinary research network, with collaborators, researchers and partners across the nation.

National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome – US-based non-profit public health charitable organization focused on the issue of fetal alcohol syndrome and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

Surrey Place – Based in Ontario, Canada, a wonderful organization that provides support services for individuals living with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and visual impairments.

Support Groups and Resources

Dan Dubovsky Lectures – A series of YouTube videos of talks by FASD Specialist Dan Dubovsky, on topics ranging from school success, strategies to improving outcomes and mental health.

FASD Caregiver Success Support Group – A wonderful and private Facebook group for caregivers of individuals with FASD.

FASD Success Show – A wonderful, informative and at times uplifting podcast by FASD expert Jeff Noble.

KnowFASD – Alcohol in utero knowledge base. Shared by Edmonton and Area Fetal Alcohol Network.

Myles Himmelreich – An inspiring individual with FASD who shares his story and advocacy work as a motivational speaker.

Red Shoes Rock – Founded by RJ Formanek, an inspiring individual with FASD, this international awareness campaign gives voice and support to those affected by prenatal alcohol exposure.

Trying Differently Rather than Harder – An insightful book by Diane Malbin that provides wonderful tips for caregivers on how to adjust their approach to parenting individuals with FASD.
